Profile

Mark has been a senior performance coach for 23 years, previously working at South Ribble Tennis Academy as lead Performance Coach and more recently Prestwick Tennis & Fitness as Head of Coaching and Development. Mark has a proven track record of developing players from mini tennis to world ranked.

As a player, Mark represented Lancashire at both Junior and Senior County level for 28 years. He has also represented Scotland in the 4-Nations International and is the current Scottish Over 35 Open Singles and Double champion!

Individual Lessons

Craig has been a professional tennis coach for over 10 years, working with a number of well-established clubs, including Fort Matilda, Kilmacolm and Ardgowan.

Having joined Giffnock in 2013, Craig has looked after a variety of sessions across our Club programme, including Little Hitters, Mini Tennis, Junior Club, Junior Team and Adult classes.

Craig has also taken a lead in promotion of tennis in schools, working closely with our colleagues in Active Schools.

Profile

Craig has been a full qualified LTA Accredited coach for over 10 years, with experience throughout all forms of club coaching. This includes tots, mini tennis, junior, adult and disability tennis.

A graduate of the Tennis Scotland Apprenticeship programme, Smithy has worked with players at all levels, including County and National players.

Currently the South of Scotland Men’s Playing Captain, Smithy has over 10 Caps for his country.

Smithy is also a qualified LTA referee, chair umpire and line umpire. If it’s tennis then Smithy is your man!

Gary has been a professional tennis coach for over 20 years.   During that time he has worked with numerous national and world ranked players.  He has coached players ranging from red ball all the way through to grand slam players.
As a player, Gary has represented the West of Scotland, Scotland and Great Britain.   He was also part of Scotland’s 4 Nations winning team.

Colin has been a professional tennis coach for over 30 years. Over that time his roles have included:

  • Director of Sport at Giffnock Tennis & Squash Club
  • West of Scotland LTA County Coach
  • Tennis Scotland Squad Coach
  • Mini Tennis and County Competitions Coordinator for Isle of Man LTA
  • County Captain for Tennis South of Scotland
  • Tennis Scotland Coach of the Year 1992

Colin is also a highly LTA Accredited Referee and has experience in coaching squash and hockey.
